 Mary Evelyn, MBA
Managing Director
Growing up Mary, watched her father, John Evelyn, build a successful career as a golf professional and entrepreneur on the simple premise that the way to win is to play the course – not the other golfers. As a passionate golfer Mary followed in his footsteps earning an undergraduate degree at York University and then graduating from the University of Toronto MBA Program in 1991 with an eye on going into the golf business herself. She took on full-time duties at the John Evelyn Golf Center (now Bushwood) in 1993 after her father. Stepping up to take the helm of the club, Mary quickly stabilized the business and injected it with a renewed sense of energy and appeal as an enjoyable facility for a fun round of golf. Her forward-thinking led Mary securing the trademark and patent to the name Bushwood Golf Club, which originated with the cult-classic movie Caddyshack, and rebranding the facility as the Bushwood Golf Club in 1995. Mary, a scratch golfer, brings the same passion and enthusiasm to all aspects of her life. She’s an active volunteer in the community, formerly serving as member of the Board of Directors for the National Golf Course Owners Association, Central Ontario Chapter from 1996-2005.

Head Golf Professional
Jim grew up in North Bay where he played junior golf at North Bay Golf & Country Club. Eventually he moved to Oshawa, playing as a junior at the Oshawa Golf and Curling Club. After a successful junior career, Jim joined the CPGA in 1993, where he worked as an assistant at Thunderbird Golf Club. In 1997 Jim completed his Class A exam becoming an associate professional at Lakeridge Golf club where he spent many years working with respected golf professional Jerry Nemish. Following that, Jim worked at Oliver’s Nest Golf Club as the head professional for the past 3 years. Jim has 17 years of teaching experience and has worked in the golf business for 24 years. He is very excited to work as the head professional at Bushwood Golf Club.

 Andrew Rideout
Food and Beverage Manager
Andrew is a graduate of Sir Sanford Fleming College and has a Business Administration Diploma in Hotel and Resort Manager.
Andrew started out working in bars and restaurants. He has spent the last 12 years at Cherry Downs Golf and Country Club as the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager. Andrew is looking forward to the upcoming golf season.
